It Takes a Village: Promoting Civic Engagement Among Immigrants

This is the one hundred and fortieth episode of Public Interest Podcast with Nancy Navarro, a Democratic Montgomery County Councilmember representing District 4, former President of the County Council, former President of the Montgomery County Board of Education, co-founder of the Montgomery County Non-Profit Village, Leader of the Latino Civic Project, and a former member of the White House Commission on Educational Excellence for Hispanics. Navarro relates her experience as an immigrant from Venezuela to the experiences of many in Montgomery County's immigrant community and how she uses her own narrative as a means of connecting with and inspiring others to become more civically engaged in their own communities.
